About B.A.S.E Jumping

BASE jumping is a sport involving the use of a parachute to jump from fixed objects. "BASE" is an acronym that stands for the four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump:

    • Building
    • Antenna (an uninhabited tower such as an aerial mast)
    • Span (a bridge or arch)
    • Earth (a cliff or other natural formation)

BASE jumping grew out of skydiving. BASE jumps are generally made from much lower altitudes than skydives, and a BASE jump takes place in close proximity to a fixed object which provides the jump platform. Standard skydiving parachute systems are not designed for BASE jumping so BASE jumpers use specially designed harnesses and parachute systems designed & manufactured by Morpheus Technologies.
